How to Search, Filter, and Sort Amazing Field for Trello Data

Trello’s built-in search, filtering, and sorting tools work with native Trello Custom Fields, not directly with Amazing Fields. There are two ways to bring these capabilities to your Amazing Fields data.

Option 1: Use the Custom Field Wrapper

The Custom Field Wrapper links an Amazing Field to a native Trello Custom Field, keeping both in sync. Once a field is wrapped, Trello can read it in any context that supports Custom Fields, including the board filter, Trello search, and exports.

This is the recommended approach if you want your Amazing Fields data to be accessible through Trello’s native tools.

Option 2: Use the Amazing Fields Table View

Amazing Fields includes a built-in Table View that lets you filter cards by any field value in real time, without needing to set up a Custom Field Wrapper. Results are displayed in a table layout, and you can open individual cards directly from the view or export the data.

To access Table View in Amazing Fields

  1. Open Amazing Fields Settings by clicking the Amazing Fields icon in the top-right corner of the board.
  2. Click "Table / Search / Export."

Tip: The Table View is a great lightweight alternative when you only need to filter within Amazing Fields and do not need Trello’s native filter or mobile compatibility.
