Amazing Fields Admin Access Out of Sync with Trello Board Permissions

In rare cases, Trello does not correctly communicate a user’s admin status to Amazing Fields. When this happens, the affected user cannot access Amazing Fields settings, even though they appear to have admin rights in Trello. This article explains how to diagnose and resolve the issue.

Step 1: Verify your admin status in Trello

  1. On the Trello board, click the "Share" button.
  2. Find your name in the "Board members" list.
  3. Check whether you are listed as an "Admin" or a "Member."

If you are listed as a Member rather than an Admin, ask the board owner to update your role. Once updated, try accessing Amazing Fields settings again.

Step 2: Re-sync admin rights with Amazing Fields

If you are already listed as an Admin in Trello but Amazing Fields still does not recognize your rights, the data is out of sync. The most reliable fix is to remove and re-add your board membership:

  1. Have another board admin remove you from the board using the "Share" button.
  2. Have the same admin re-add you to the board with "Admin" rights.
  3. Open the board again. Amazing Fields should now recognize your admin status correctly.
