Getting Started with Amazing Fields
Amazing Fields is a Trello Power-Up that lets you add custom fields to any Trello card, such as due dates, dropdowns, numbers, progress bars, and more. This article walks you through everything you need to do to go from zero to your first field in just a few minutes.
Before you begin
You'll need admin or edit access to the Trello board where you want to install Amazing Fields. The setup takes about 2–3 minutes. To add Amazing Fields to your board, see: Add Amazing Fields to your Trello board.

Create your first field
- Open Amazing Fields Settings by clicking the Amazing Fields icon in the top-right corner of the board.
- Click the "Add" button.
- A menu will appear showing all available field types, grouped into categories:
- Basic fields: Text, Checkbox, Dropdown, Number, Date/Time, Progress Bar
- Advanced fields: More complex field types
- Example fields: Pre-configured fields for common use cases (great for quick-starting)
- Sample boards: Launch a pre-built board from an Amazing Fields template
Hover over any ? icon in the UI to see a tooltip explaining that setting.
